Mercedes Lawry has published poetry for thirty years in such journals as Poetry, Rhino, Fine Madness, Nimrod, Hawaii Pacific Review, Crab Creek and Seattle Review, as well as fiction, and stories and poems for children. She has received awards from Seattle Arts Commission and Artist Trust, and been a Jack Straw Writer. Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, she has lived in Seattle for twenty-five years. Currently she is Director of Media and Public Relations at Bastyr University. Her poem "Measurement" appears in Square Lake Number Two, "After the Horror Movie" and "The Hours Elapse and Leave Us Bare" in Number Four, and "The Painters of Italy" and "Certain Parts of the City" in Number Five. |
