Frances Ruhlen McConnel is a Seattleite in exile, teaching at the University of California in Riverside. She has published Gathering Light, a book of poems, and a chapbook of haiku is forthcoming.  She has had poems in Crab Creek Review, Seattle Review, The Alaska Quarterly Review, and The Massachusetts Review.
